Difference between continuous laser descaling machine and pulsed laser descaling machine

Jul 09, 2024

1. Different operation mode

There is an obvious difference between continuous laser descaling machine and pulsed laser descaling machine in operation mode. Continuous laser descaling machines achieve the purpose of descaling by continuously emitting laser beams to the surface of the object to be processed, melting and evaporating the corroded material. Pulsed laser descaling machine, on the other hand, is designed to remove rust by intermittently firing a high-energy pulsed laser beam at a specific frequency into the rusted object to strip the rusted object. There is a big difference between the two kinds of laser descaling machines in the operation mode.

2. Different treatment effects

The processing effect of continuous laser descaling machine and pulsed laser descaling machine is also different. Continuous laser descaling machine can realize high processing speed due to the continuous laser beam, which is suitable for processing rust and corrosion on a large surface area. While the pulsed laser descaling machine can realize higher energy density due to the use of pulsed laser beam, which can strip the rust more effectively and is suitable for descaling the rust on smaller area which is difficult to be processed.

3. Different scope of application

Continuous laser descaling machine and pulsed laser descaling machine also have differences in the scope of application. Due to the high processing speed of continuous laser descaling machine, it is suitable for descaling large-sized workpieces, especially for continuous operation on industrial production lines. While the pulsed laser descaling machine, due to higher energy density, is more suitable for the treatment of small areas or hard-to-reach rust, such as the fine descaling of metal parts.

4. Differences in equipment cost and maintenance

Continuous laser descaling machines and pulsed laser descaling machines also differ in terms of equipment cost and maintenance. Continuous laser descaling machines are usually cheaper than pulsed laser descaling machines due to their higher processing speed and simpler working principle. Pulsed laser descaling machines, on the other hand, tend to have higher equipment and maintenance costs due to the need for higher energy densities and finer laser processing systems.

5. Different safety considerations

Continuous laser descaling machines and pulsed laser descaling machines also differ in safety considerations. Continuous laser descaling machines require a longer exposure time due to the continuous laser beam, and therefore require higher safety requirements and a series of safety measures. On the other hand, the pulsed laser descaling machine can finish descaling in a shorter time due to the intermittent emission of the laser beam, which requires relatively low safety requirements.

By comparing the difference between continuous laser descaling machine and pulsed laser descaling machine above, we can see that there are big differences between the two in terms of operation mode, processing effect, scope of application, equipment cost and maintenance cost as well as safety considerations, etc. When choosing a laser descaling machine, it is necessary to adopt a series of safety measures. When choosing the laser descaling machine, comprehensive consideration should be made according to the specific needs and actual situation to choose the most suitable descaling model.
